THE ARC OF NORTHERN VIRGINIA MEMBERSHIP

ALLY is, “A Life Like Yours”

With a membership of over 1500 individuals, we work to provide “ALLY” to over 7,000 citizens with developmental/ intellectual disabilities in Northern Virginia. That means helping them receive the resources they need to live “A Life Like Yours!” Every member of our community should be able to make their own life choices and have all of the basic rights that everyone else in their community enjoys.

The Arc of Northern Virginia believes that access within a community cannot simply be achieved by building a ramp or widening a doorway. Equality is achieved through building lifelong relationships one person and one family at a time. Through coalition-building, advocacy, personalized information and referral, community events, and services like guardianship, Developmental Disability Waiver services, as well as the Special Needs Trust program.

The Arc of Northern Virginia has become a leader in our community. Join us, and support our goal of equality for ALL members of our community including those with intellectual disabilities. Help us educate our community on the importance of this goal. Your funding also enables The Arc Staff and members of our community with Intellectual Disabilities to travel to Richmond so that all of us can meet and talk to our legislators and advocate for equal treatment.
