For years, the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB) has used local dollars to pay for employment supports or meaningful day opportunities for students with an ID diagnosis who finished school, but were still on the waiting list for a Medicaid Waiver. Now that the CSB is including people with developmental disabilities in their services, they are looking at reducing the amount of funding going to all graduates as the population of people in need grows.
If your child is a past FCPS graduate, a future grad, or you’re concerned and want to ensure people with disabilities have real options and supports after high school, please participate in the resource challenge in person, in person wrap up session, and/or the online innovation challenge. Share your creative ideas for how we fund the most graduates, most efficiently! We’ll see you there.
Join the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB), partner organizations, family and friends to help craft future services and supports for adults living with developmental disabilities in Fairfax County.
- Join CSB at one of four hands-on Resource Challenge Workshops. Attendees will participate in a facilitated challenge to create workable decision-making models that reflect the community’s values in how tax resources are used to provide the greatest number of people with employment supports and day programs.
