DESCRIPTION:  \nTransition Lunch and Learn is held on the second Thursday of the month\, facilitated by Diane Monnig\, Director of Programs. These sessions are not recorded. \nPlanning to transition from school to adult services can be overwhelming. Once your child exits the school system\, adult services are based on eligibility criteria and funding availability. These small group sessions are an opportunity to begin creating a plan for the future. Learn what employment and meaningful day support services are available\, how to explore post-secondary options\, what transportation supports exist\, how to help your child make decisions and advocate\, when to apply for SSI and manage benefits\, and what recreation activities are available. This informal opportunity is to ask questions and discuss with the facilitator and other participants. \n\n					\n				Register Now

SUMMARY:Disability Awareness and Disclosure Strategies
DESCRIPTION:Many people with chronic conditions struggle with whether\, when and how to disclose their non-apparent disability to their employers or peers.  Ms. Daly will share her expertise in the disabilities field and lead a discussion on the important issue of disability awareness and disclosure options\, including overcoming the fear and uncertainty of disclosure for people with non-apparent disabilities. \n  \nPresenter: \nLori Daly is President of Diversifi Consulting Group\, LLC (DiversifiCG)\, a certified Disability-Owned Business Enterprise (DOBE ®)\, Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE)\, and Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) based in Loudoun County. DiversifiCG’s mission is to bring disability awareness and inclusion to businesses through a series of workshops and seminars designed to meet the specific needs of individuals within the organization. \nLori has the distinction of being both a Mid-Atlantic ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Leadership Network Trainer and Certified Disability Recruiter (C.D.R).    She has developed and led disability recruiting initiatives\, chaired employee resource groups and college committees\, led military recruiting for transitioning wounded veterans back into the workforce\, and developed hiring programs for professionals and students with disabilities. \nLori is former Chair of the Loudoun County Disability Services Board and Board Member of NVRC (Northern Virginia Resource Center for Deaf & Hard of Hearing Persons).  Currently\, she serves on the Advisory Board of Disability:IN DC Metro. \n  \n\n					\n				Register Now!
