DESCRIPTION:  \nWe’re excited to announce that Wings for All is returning to Reagan National Airport on Saturday\, October 11th! \nA huge thank you to our partners—the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority\, United Airlines\, TSA\, and many other airport services—for making this event possible. \nRegistration opens at 10 AM on Wednesday\, September 10th on our website. Spots are limited\, and seats on the plane typically fill quickly- so be sure to register early! \nFollow us on social media for reminders and updates as we near registration and the event. \nWhat is Wings for All? \nWings for All gives families and aviation professionals the confidence to take to the skies with ease by providing an airport “rehearsal\,” as well as a presentation on the aircraft features and in-flight safety protocols. \nFor Individuals and Families\nWings alleviates some of the stress that people with autism and other IDDs and their families experience when traveling by air by providing families with the opportunity to experience and learn about how their loved ones will react to different stimuli in the airport. \nFor Aviation Professionals \nWings gives airport\, airline\, TSA professionals\, and other personnel the opportunity to observe\, interact\, and deliver their services in a structured learning environment—improving their disability competency and processes for accommodating ALL passengers who fly. \nWhat to Expect at Wings for All\nDuring this special event\, participants will have the chance to: \n\nCheck in and receive their boarding passes\nGo through TSA security with support from airport staff\nWait at the gate in the boarding area\nBoard a real aircraft (the plane won’t take off\, but will taxi on the runway)\n\nEnjoy a catered lunch provided by our airport partners \nFor more information or if you have questions about Wings for All\, email Ashley Schalick\, or call 703-208-1119.
