DESCRIPTION:  \nTransition Lunch and Learn is held on the second Thursday of the month\, facilitated by Diane Monnig\, Director of Programs. These sessions are not recorded. \nPlanning to transition from school to adult services can be overwhelming. Once your child exits the school system\, adult services are based on eligibility criteria and funding availability. These small group sessions are an opportunity to begin creating a plan for the future. Learn what employment and meaningful day support services are available\, how to explore post-secondary options\, what transportation supports exist\, how to help your child make decisions and advocate\, when to apply for SSI and manage benefits\, and what recreation activities are available. This informal opportunity is to ask questions and discuss with the facilitator and other participants. \n\n					\n				Register Now

DESCRIPTION:  \nThe Arc of Northern Virginia’s Transition Support group meets every other month in person at our offices at 3060 Williams Dr. #300\, Fairfax\, VA 22031. Meetings provide a forum to share resources\, ask questions\, and be surrounded and supported by families who understand the thrills and challenges of navigating life after leaving school. There are occasional guest speakers who provide information about topics of interest. The group is led by Rob Hudson\, Digital Communications Manager and Frank Trippett Advocacy and Outreach Fellow.
