Join us on Sunday, May 5, 2019 for The Arc of Northern Virginia’s Corporate and Community Team Challenge that brings together companies and community to raise important funds to sustain and strengthen its vital programs, services, and advocacy for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arc of Northern Virginia Corporate & Community Team Challenge is the premier corporate challenge foot race and the area’s only team-based race with teams of 5-7 runners. About the 8K Race


running course mapFor 40 years, this has been Northern Virginia’s premier corporate and community challenge foot race and the area’s only team based race with teams of 5-7 runners.

The 8K Course starts at Shelter A at Burke Lake Park (7315 Ox Road, Fairfax Station, VA) and continues around the lake to return to Shelter A. The course is partially paved (in the first and last mile), and the dirt path (watch for some rocks and roots!) around the lake is over mildly rolling terrain. The race ends at Shelter A for post-race festivities including food, music, door prizes, chair massages, and children’s activities.

Timing:

This race is chip timed by NoVA Race Timing www.novaracetiming.com. Race results will be posted on their website.

Running Teams consist of 5 to 7 team members for Team Challenge 8K Course. The competition is scored by finish order of runners, not by individual times.

Team Categories include:

Corporate Coed/Corporate All Male/Corporate All Female/Community Open. Note ** Corporate Coed team requires at least 2 females.

Awards: 

Trophies will be awarded to the top five Corporate All Male, top five Corporate Coed, top four Corporate All Female, and top four Community Open teams.

Overall Finish Categories:

The top five men and women will receive gift certificates to Metro, Run & Walk

Age Group Categories:

The top two males and females will receive gift certificates to Metro, Run & Walk: under 15, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+

About the 2-Mile Walk

Walking teams can have up to 12 participants and takes place on paved road and is 1 mile in each direction. This is a non-competitive, fun walk and is pet, family, wheelchair and stroller friendly event. Finish times will not be recorded.

General Event Information


All team participants receive customized t-shirts.

Packet Pick Up:

Packet pick up will be announced at a later date. Pick up will also be available on race day morning.

Team Registration Due by April 15th:

Teams can register after April 15th but they will not be able to get our beautiful  customized t-shirts.

Photographs :

All teams will receive a plaque with their team photo a few weeks after the race. Team photos will be begin at 7:00 a.m. on race day morning.  Other race day photos will be available via a link sent out after the race.

Directions to Parking:

The race starts and ends at Shelter A in Burke Lake Park (7315 Ox Road, Fairfax Station, VA). Parking is available at lots in Shelters A and C. Map
