The 40th Annual Corporate and Community Team Challenge 8K &1M and 2M walk, will be held April 29, 2018 at Burke Lake Park. Registration for runners. walkers, sponsors, and donors.

 

Microsoft Family Game Night for Autism Awareness Month

The Arc of Northern Virginia is partnering with the Microsoft store in the Tysons Corner Center mall to present a Family Game Night.  Join us in the store on Monday, April 30th from 6:30 to 8:30 PM and enjoy a fun evening of friendly video-game competition on the X Box gaming system.  Download this flier for details.

Shop for the Cause:  A ‘Kendra Gives Back’ Party

 is a leading fashion lifestyle brand inspired by the personal experiences, travel, and sense of community of its CEO and designer, Kendra Scott.  The Arc of Northern Virginia is the designated honoree for a “Kendra Gives Back” party.  Join us at their store in the Mosaic District in Merrified for sips, sweets, and jewels.  The Arc will receive 20% of the proceeds of all sales in the store during our event.

Dine Out for People with Disabilities

Saturday, June 9th – 1:00-4:00pm
Fair Winds Brewery hosts our next Dine Out event.  Join us in Lorton for a down-home Crawfish Boil, featuring  hot seafood, cold brew, and the fun and fellowship.  It’s a fun event, so invited your family, bring your friends, and support our mission all at the same time.

Throughout the year, local businesses help The Arc of Northern Virginia by hosting  fundraising events for our benefit. Each event is different and gives you a chance to enjoy a meal, meet our staff, members, and board of directors, all while supporting us.

Dine Out for People with Disabilities

Thursday, July 19th – 6:00-9:00pm
Clare & Don’s Beach Shack hosts our next Dine Out event.  Join us in Falls Church for a rousing good time, featuring music by the popular band Big Tow.  You don’t want to miss the good food, cold drinks, and of course the fun and fellowship.  It’s a fun event, so invited your family, bring your friends, and support our mission all at the same time.

Opportunities Open Golf Tournament

Presented by The Rotary Club of Dulles International Airport. Since its inception, this event has raised more than $500,000 for local charities dedicated to helping make a positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities. The Tournament supports The Arc of Northern Virginia, Every Citizen Has Opportunities (ECHO), ServiceSource and The Arc of Loudoun at Paxton Campus.

Wings for All

Date: To Be Determined
Wings for All is designed to alleviate some of the stress that families who have a child with a disability experience when traveling by air. The program provides families with the opportunity to practice entering the airport, obtain boarding passes, go through security and board a plane. Wings for All also gives airport, airline, Transportation Security Administration professionals and other personnel the opportunity to observe, interact and deliver their services in a structured, learning environment.  Check out the album of photos from Wings for All 2018.

Trust Presentations

Tia Marsili, Director of Trusts, will presents to families, siblings and adults with disabilities or others interested in learning about special needs trusts and other tools to consider when developing a plan for the future.

 

Workshops & Trainings

The Arc of Northern Virginia is an information and referral source for families and professionals. To keep families up-to-date on advocacy issues and provide information on disability issues we host and sponsor many educational seminars and workshops throughout the year.
