Local businesses help The Arc of Northern Virginia by hosting fundraising events for our benefit. Each event is different and gives you a chance to enjoy a meal, meet our staff, members, and board of directors, all while supporting us.
The Arc of Northern Virginia will be posting trainings and workshops geared toward disability professionals in the community.
We reach out to the business community to educate about The Arc of Northern Virginia’s programs and services and other disability issues.
The Arc of Northern Virginia is a member of The Falls Church Chamber of Commerce, Greater Merrifield Business Association and the Tyson’s Regional Chamber of Commerce.
October 2, 2017 – The 21st Annual Opportunities Open
At River Creek Country Club, 43800 Olympic Blvd., Leesburg, VA 20176, is presented by The Rotary Club of Dulles International Airport. Since its inception, this event has raised more than $500,000 for local charities dedicated to helping make a positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities. The Tournament supports The Arc of Northern Virginia, Every Citizen Has Opportunities (ECHO), ServiceSource and The Arc of Loudoun at Paxton Campus.

March 26, 2017, The Arc of Northern Virginia presented: Life Animated, an inspirational story of Owen Suskind, a young man who was unable to speak as a child until he and his family discovered a unique way to communicate by immersing themselves in the world of classic Disney animated films. Stay tuned for more special features.
The 39th Annual Corporate and Community Team Challenge 8K, was on May 7th, 2017, Burke Lake Park. New this year was a very successful 1M and 2M walk. Thank you to all runners. walkers, sponsors, and donors. Look for our 2018 event in early May.
Tia Marsili, Director of Trusts, will presents to families, siblings and adults with disabilities or others interested in learning about special needs trusts and other tools to consider when developing a plan for the future.
Wings for All is designed to alleviate some of the stress that families who have a child with a disability experience when traveling by air. The program provides families with the opportunity to practice entering the airport, obtain boarding passes, go through security and board a plane. Wings for All also gives airport, airline, Transportation Security Administration professionals and other personnel the opportunity to observe, interact and deliver their services in a structured, learning environment.
The Arc of Northern Virginia is an information and referral source for families and professionals. To keep families up-to-date on advocacy issues and provide information on disability issues we host and sponsor many educational seminars and workshops throughout the year.
