TFIL Talks
Each month, we meet on Zoom to dive into one of the app’s lessons, offering a chance to connect with others in a friendly, social setting. It’s the perfect opportunity to engage, share thoughts, and learn together how Arc2Independence can help you navigate daily tasks and build confidence.
Travel Trips
Gain independence and confidence with one of our travel training experiences! With hands-on guidance, participants will receive an orientation to the various transit systems throughout the DMV. These trips aim to boost safety awareness, introduce problem-solving skills, and promote independence. Whether you are an individual or a group looking for an introduction to public transit, we’ve got you covered!
Arc2Independence Connect
Engage and collaborate with a diverse group of people who use or are curious about Arc2Independence. These quarterly meet-ups are designed to help you get the most out of our app. Everyone’s welcome to share their experiences, ask questions, and hear from others in the community about what’s working and what could be improved to make Arc2Independence even more valuable for each user. Even if you haven’t signed up for the app yet, you’re invited to join these sessions and explore all things Arc2Independence.

Camp Arc2Independence
The TFIL team offers inclusive introductory cooking classes that provide step-by-step instructions in a fun and safe environment, promoting independence for all participants.
Cooking Class
Kidpower instructors come to The Arc of Northern Virginia to teach people of all ages skills to protect themselves through interactive classes and role-playing. You'll learn how to apply these skills to real-life situations, helping you feel more confident and aware.
Safety Power Events
The Arc’s Wings for Autism®/Wings for All® (Wings) program gives families and aviation professionals the confidence to take to the skies with ease by providing an airport “rehearsal,” as well as a presentation on the aircraft features and in-flight safety protocols.
Wings for All
Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) representatives come to The Arc of Northern Virginia to assist with processing and renewing applications for their Reduced Fare Program AND MetroAccess Paratransit services.
Metro Comes to the Arc
Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) personnel comes to The Arc of Northern Virginia to conduct all DMV transactions except vital records and testing. Services are available for the whole family.
