TFIL’s Travel Trip

Whether you are a first-time rider or simply want to increase your knowledge of safety and public transit, these travel experiences are for you. The Tech for Independent Living (TFIL) team hosts ongoing metro and bus trips designed for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These outings help participants build confidence, independence, and knowledge about traveling in the community.These trips simplify an overwhelming concept by turning them into an enjoyable group outing where everyone feels empowered. These in-person travel training events are FREE to attend and include SmarTrip cards, but pre-registration is required.
Wednesday, December 9th – Rockville Metro Station to Dupont Circle, 11 AM – 2 PM Participants will meet at the Rockville Metro Station and take the Red Line to Dupont Circle. There, they will have the opportunity to explore the Dupont Circle Holiday Market, shop for gifts for their family and friends, and grab a bite to eat before heading back to the Rockville Metro Station.
