Social Media Design Intern
Social Media Design Intern
(Volunteer, Remote, ~5 hours/week)
The Arc of Northern Virginia supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. We’re looking for a creative volunteer intern to help us keep up with our growing social media presence. This is a flexible, fully remote role (about 5 hours per week) – though you’re welcome to join us at the office if you’d like.
What you’ll do:
Design eye-catching posts in Canva and create short reels using photos and video we provide, for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. We handle the planning and strategy – you focus on making the content look great.
Who you are:
You enjoy visual design and know your way around Canva. You’re comfortable making reels or short-form video, have a good eye for what stands out in a feed, and can work independently on a flexible schedule. No professional experience needed – students and self-taught creators welcome.
What you’ll get:
A portfolio of real published work for a mission-driven organization, a flexible schedule that works around your life, and a reference or recommendation letter. If relevant: we’re happy to work with your school for academic or service-hour credit.
To apply, email our Director of Communications, Ashley Cantatore at ashley.cantatore@thearcofnova.org by August 21st with a few sentences about yourself and links or samples of anything you’ve made – social posts, reels, class projects, or your own accounts all count.
