Puberty, Relationships, and Safety: What Caregivers and Self-Advocates Need to Know

September 9 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

Puberty happens whether we’re ready for it or not. Questions about bodies, boundaries, friendships, dating, and safety are a normal part of growing up, yet many individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and the people who support them receive little guidance on how to navigate these topics with confidence.

In this webinar, sexuality educator and author Ariel Davis, MPH, CSE, will explore common questions related to puberty, relationships, consent, boundaries, and personal safety for individuals with I/DD. Drawing from her work in the field and recent publication on trauma-informed sexuality education, Ariel will share key considerations, practical strategies, and resources to support healthy relationships, self-advocacy, and informed decision-making.

This webinar is intended for caregivers, family members, self-advocates, educators, and professionals who want to better understand how to approach these important conversations with confidence and compassion.
