TFIL’s Travel Trip

Whether you are a first-time rider or simply want to increase your knowledge of safety and public transit, these travel experiences are for you. The Tech for Independent Living (TFIL) team hosts ongoing metro and bus trips designed for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These outings help participants build confidence, independence, and knowledge about traveling in the community.These trips simplify an overwhelming concept by turning them into an enjoyable group outing where everyone feels empowered. These in-person travel training events are FREE to attend and include SmarTrip cards, but pre-registration is required.
Friday, August 14th – Dunn Loring to Tyson’s Corner Center, 10 AM – 1 PM Participants will gather at Dunn Loring Metrorail Station and take the Orange Line, followed by the Gray Line, to Tysons Corner Center. They will have the opportunity to shop, eat, or socialize with each other before the group returns to Dunn Loring Metrorail Station.
