TFIL’s Travel Trip

Whether you are a first-time rider or simply want to increase your knowledge of safety and public transit, these travel experiences are for you. The Tech for Independent Living (TFIL) team hosts ongoing metro and bus trips designed for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These outings help participants build confidence, independence, and knowledge about traveling in the community.These trips simplify an overwhelming concept by turning them into an enjoyable group outing where everyone feels empowered. These in-person travel training events are FREE to attend and include SmarTrip cards, but pre-registration is required.
Wednesday, October 14th – Vienna Metro Station to Fairfax City Library, 10 AM – 1 PM Participants will meet at the Vienna Metro Station North and take the Cue Bus to the Fairfax City Library in Old Town Fairfax. They will have the opportunity to meet with the librarian, explore available resources, and sign up for a library card if they are local to the county. Afterward, the group will have lunch in Old Town before returning to the Vienna Metro Station.
