Transition Series 101: From Learning to Launching

December 5 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
$35

What happens when school ends? For people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families, the transition from school-provided services to adult life can bring a lot of questions, and finding the right resources can make all the difference.

Join The Arc of Northern Virginia for our Annual Transition Series, a program designed to educate and empower individuals with disabilities and their families as they navigate the transition to adult, community-based services.

Join us for this in-person closing session to connect, reflect, and plan for what’s next on December 5, 2026. There will be presentations for families from 9:00–11:00am, followed by a Mini-Resource Fair from 11:00am–12:00pm. The fair will bring together local service providers and support organizations, giving families an opportunity to learn about available resources, ask questions and make connections with organizations that can help as they plan for life after school.

Saturday, December 5
9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
The Arc of Northern Virginia
3060 Williams Drive, Suite 300, Fairfax, VA

Whether you’re just beginning to think about the transition or already making plans for life after high school, this series will offer information, resources and connections to help you move forward. To learn more about the Transition Series check out our Transition Series Page. Also, be on the lookout for our 2027 Transition 102 series. Transition 102 will offer additional webinars focused on specific transition topics. These sessions will provide more detailed information, practical strategies, and resources to help families navigate the areas that are most relevant to their young adult.
