As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, The Arc of Northern Virginia relies on private support from individuals, corporations, organizations, and foundations to fund our efforts. Your generous donations help make it possible for us to provide programs, services, and advocacy so that people with ID/DD can live “A Life Like Yours.”
There are many ways to help The Arc of Northern Virginia throughout the year:
Become a Member
Become part of the largest grassroots movement to promote and protect the rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and you are part of a local, state and national network of individuals, families, advocates and professionals.
General Support
Friends of The Arc of Northern Virginia have the opportunity to strengthen all of our programs, services, and advocacy, and to provide the annual funding that help us fulfill our vital mission.
Tribute Gifts
You can celebrate, honor, or remember your family and loved ones by making a donation in their name. Your gift will help further our work and let loved ones know how much you care.
Vehicle Donations
The Arc of Northern Virginia accepts cars, vans, trucks, boats with a trailer, and recreational vehicles, whether the vehicle is running or not, from anywhere in the country. It’s as simple as filling out a form, and we will take care of the rest and arrange a convenient time for free auto towing.
Donate Stock
The donation of appreciated securities is an excellent way to make a significant impact. You may receive a charitable income tax donation for the fair market value of the gifted securities, increasing the value for your gift and decreasing the cost to you. You may also avoid any capital gains tax you would have paid had you sold the appreciated securities and donated the proceeds to us. Contact Howard Stregack for more information.
Workplace Giving and Matching Gifts
Many people are able to support us through a workplace giving campaign or a matching gift from their employer. We participate in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC# 14617) and United Way (UWNCA# 8035) or you can enter us as a “write in” designation in other workplace campaigns. If you would like your workplace to highlight The Arc of Northern Virginia in newsletters, online communications, or on-site presentations, we would be happy to provide you with information and assistance. Contact Howard Stregack for more information.
Bequests and Planned Giving
There are a number of ways to demonstrate your commitment to our mission and make a long-term difference in the lives of people with ID/DD. A bequest, beneficiary designation, or other planned gift allows you to create a personal legacy and may offer tax advantages for your family as well. Your advisor can help identify the best option for you. Contact Howard Stregack for more information.
