The TFIL team hosts in-person and Zoom week-long camps in the summer, which focus on a different category from our app, Transportation, Safety, Daily Living, and Employment. Campers will partake in enjoyable activities, socialize, and develop independence skills.

Tech for Independent Living
Events
We host several events throughout the year, providing opportunities to practice using the app and discover how it can be integrated into your daily life. These events are designed to help you build confidence in activities such as cooking, traveling in the community, ordering food at a restaurant, and much more!

Building Independence with the TFIL Team
Ever wish there was an app that helped you take on everyday tasks with ease and confidence? With step-by-step support right at your fingertips, you’ll feel empowered to handle anything—no matter your unique needs. Join one of our monthly Zoom sessions to discover how Arc2Independence can help empower you and support your journey towards greater independence.

TFIL Talks
Each month, we meet on Zoom to dive into one of the app’s lessons, offering a chance to connect with others in a friendly, social setting. It’s the perfect opportunity to engage, share thoughts, and learn together how Arc2Independence can help you navigate daily tasks and build confidence.

Travel Trips
Join the Tech for Independent Living team on one of our ongoing travel trips. These trips are meant for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are new to public transportation or looking to build confidence. We will go over the basics like how to pay, read a map, and what to do if something goes wrong. Each Trip includes practice on WMATA Metro Rail, bus, or trolley and ends at a fun community spot.

Arc2Independence Connect
Engage and collaborate with a diverse group of people who use or are curious about Arc2Independence. These quarterly meet-ups are designed to help you get the most out of our app. Everyone’s welcome to share their experiences, ask questions, and hear from others in the community about what’s working and what could be improved to make Arc2Independence even more valuable for each user. Even if you haven’t signed up for the app yet, you’re invited to join these sessions and explore all things Arc2Independence.
