Position: Trust Services Associate

Reports to: Director of Trusts

Department: Special Needs Trust

Employment Type: Full time (Monday-Friday from 9:00am-4:30pm), in office with eligibility for up to two dates remote after probationary period

Compensation: $50,000-$55,000/year, plus benefits, based on experience

Overview Description: The Trust Services Associate provides administrative and operational support to the Trust Services team in the day-to-day management of pooled special needs trust accounts. This role assists with disbursement processing, account documentation, data entry, and general client support to help ensure timely and accurate trust administration.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in reviewing and processing disbursement requests in accordance with established procedures
  • Prepare and forward required documentation to the corporate Trustee and track request status as needed
  • Communicate needs to clients upon review and direction of Assistant Director of Trusts and Account Manager
  • Review trust accounts to identify missing information and conduct follow-up with families, representatives, or beneficiaries
  • Maintain organized digital and physical trust files
  • Enter and update accurate information within the CRM and other internal systems
  • Support ongoing record-keeping and documentation standards
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in weekly Special Needs Trust team meetings
  • Participate in monthly chapter All-Staff meetings
  • Other tasks and duties as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or human services field; equivalent experience considered
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Experience working with people with disabilities
  • 1–3 years of administrative or office experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; database/CRM experience preferred

Special Requirements:

  • The candidate selected for this position will be required to complete a Child Protective Services Registry and a Criminal Background Check to the satisfaction of The Arc of Northern Virginia
