This summer, the Tech for Independent Living team is excited to host multiple Camp Arc2Independence sessions! Campers will enjoy fun activities, connect with others, and strengthen their independence skills — all with support from the Arc2Independence app. Created by The Arc of Northern Virginia’s Tech for Independent Living team, the app empowers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to engage more fully in their communities.
At camp, participants will receive hands-on training with the app and explore a variety of virtual lessons on transportation, employment, safety, and daily living skills.

Dates & Times:
July 21–24 — In-Person Camp
10:00 AM – 12:30 PM each day
July 25 — Metro Travel Trip
10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Location: The Arc of Northern Virginia Office
Metro Travel Trip Details:
We will meet at Dunn Loring Metro Station and ride the Metro to Tyson’s Corner Mall. SmarTrip cards will be provided.
- Wrap up our summer camp with an exciting metro adventure from Dunn Loring to Tyson’s Corner Center! Once we arrive, we’ll go on a fun and interactive scavenger hunt that puts everything you’ve learned throughout the week to the test!
Registration Fee: $35
Eligibility: Open to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, ages 14 and up.
Caregiver Requirement: A dedicated caregiver (age 18 or older) is required and must commit to full participation for the entire week.
Technology Requirement: A tablet or smartphone is required to participate in the in-person sessions.
