GENERAL EVENT INFORMATION

5K RACE AND 2K FUN WALK & ROLL
Saturday, June 6, 2026
Burke Lake Park, 7315 Ox Road, Fairfax Station, VA 22039

Participants can arrive early to fuel up and enjoy the lively pre-race atmosphere. Light snacks will be available to help runners and walkers get energized before heading to the starting line, and music will keep the energy high as participants gather, stretch and prepare for the race.

Throughout the morning, there will also be plenty of opportunities to capture the moment. Fun photo opportunities will be set up so participants, friends, and families can snap pictures together and celebrate their participation in this exciting community tradition. With great music, snacks and plenty of smiles, the festivities begin well before the race itself.

The Community Challenge 5K is an exciting, chip-timed race that brings together runners from the community. Participants compete for top honors while enjoying the scenic course on mixed terrain at beautiful Burke Lake Park. Whether you’re a seasoned runner chasing a personal best or simply enjoying the energy of racing alongside colleagues and friends, the 5K offers a fun, competitive atmosphere and a chance to be part of a long-standing Northern Virginia tradition.

For those who prefer a more relaxed pace, the Community Challenge 2K Walk & Roll offers an inclusive way for everyone to participate. Perfect for families, coworkers and participants of all abilities, the 2K welcomes walkers, wheelchair users and anyone who wants to be part of the day’s celebration. The shorter route on a fully paved course allows participants to enjoy the beauty of the park while showing their support, making it a great option for those who want to join the festivities, build spirit and help make a difference in the community.
